AUGUST 27 UPDATE
BOOK EVENT AT CHUMLEY'S
Legendary
Greenwich Village literary watering hole, Chumley's will add jc's
covers to their historic walls.
Those
not familiar with Chumley's, there are several web sites chronicling
its history as the last speakeasy left standing in NYC, as well
as the list of notable scribes who imbibed there, including Jack
Kerouac, William Burroughs, Dorothy Parker, F. Scott Fitzgerald,
Anais Nin, Eugene O-Neill, J.D. Salinger, Norman Mailer and more.
Open
to the public, the event will be held on 9/13/03 at 5:00 pm, and
include a rare appearance by the Parents Campion, friends, family
and more. The honor comes on the heels of jc's soon to be completed
first novel and the success of "Trailing Jesus" this past year.
All
three of jc's titles will be available for purchase and personalized
signing, but if you've already purchased the book and would like
it signed, please bring it by.
More
info and directions will be provided via this mailing list the
week before the appearance.
FILM
RIGHTS FOR NEW NOVEL OPTIONED
The
Hollywood production team of Hal & Cheryl Croasmun has optioned
jc's latest manuscript (no released title as of yet) for film
considerations. The Croasmun's have worked with such notables
as John Cusack, Phillip Kaufman, Quentin Tarantino and Baz Luhrmann
among others, and provide a new avenue for jc's madness. Hyperion
Books and Berkeley Press are currently considering the manuscript,
the first fictional work for jc, for publishing.
EARLY
REMINDER FOR ENGLEWOOD LIBRARY FALL LECTURE SERIES
New
Jersey's largest public library continues its lecture series with
an appearance by jc. The date is Tuesday, December 9 at 7:30 PM,
and will include a full discussion and Q & A on "Trailing Jesus"
and all of jc's work. Copies of all three jc titles will be available
for purchase and a signing will follow. Once again, those who
have already purchased books and would like them signed are welcomed
to come, something not so readily available in bookstores.
Another
follow-up closer to the time and date will be sent to all Check
Group Members and details on the event will be posted on the library's
autumn mailing list. For more information visit: http://www.englewoodlibrary.org/.
Thanks
again to the library's Media Relations Manager, Dick Burnon and
Check Group Member, Bob Fredrick for helping to make it happen.
Finally,
special thanks goes out to the many hearty souls who made the
2003 Spring/Summer promotional book tour for "Trailing Jesus"
a trip to remember. Readers, store owners, publicity people, radio
hosts, television stations, reviewers, friends and family, Phenix
